Psi Beta is a national honor society in psychology for community and junior colleges. Founded in 1977 by Carol Tracy, the society established eleven charter chapters and convened its first National Council in 1981. Psi Beta was granted American Psychological Association (APA) affiliate status in 1988, and American Psychological Society (APS) affiliate membership in 1991.
